Fair Play Policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Dovedale GeoGuesser is a skill-based location guessing game. To keep it enjoyable for everyone, we ask that all players compete honestly and treat other players with respect.

1. What fair play means

Fair play means competing with your own knowledge and skill, without outside assistance, tools, or information that give you an unfair edge over other players.

2. Prohibited behaviour

• Cheating: using external tools, scripts, or automation to assist with guesses.
• Exploiting: taking advantage of bugs or unintended game behaviour to gain an advantage.
• Spoiling: deliberately revealing location answers to other players who have not yet played.
• Boosting: colluding with another player in duels to artificially inflate scores or win rates.
• Abusing the suggestions feature: using "Suggest Improvement" to preview locations for competitive advantage, or submitting false or harmful corrections.
• Harassment: targeting or harassing other players in any context related to the game.

3. Consequences

Violations of this policy may result in warnings, temporary bans, or permanent account removal depending on severity. Repeated or egregious violations will result in permanent bans. Decisions are made by the moderation team and are final unless successfully appealed via a support ticket.

4. Reporting

If you believe another player is violating this policy, please report them using the Player Report category when submitting a support ticket in your account settings. Include as much detail as possible: usernames, dates, and any evidence you have.

5. Good sportsmanship

Beyond the rules, we encourage positive sportsmanship. Accept wins and losses gracefully, and help make the community a welcoming place for new and experienced players alike.
